I had been wanting to get this baseball hat for a while, and I finally got it in San Francisco, out of all places haha. Not sure about you, but I love all types of hats! I hope you are having a great day, I'm finally feeling better :-)

Hi Queens,

I'm writing this post from my bed in NYC. I got back from California this Friday and I'm already missing my family and friends. And yes, I'm writing from bed because I'm sick, apparently I have the flu :-( I guess it's going around the US pretty bad. I hope I get better soon because I have a couple of TV segment to shoot this week. Stay healthy.

It feels great to be back in California and be able to wear a dress with no tights this time of year. I am completely in love with this dress from Romwe, I want to wear it everyday. Now I just need to find a tutu and I'll be happy!

You know when you are in love with a pair of shoes and you don't want to take them off? Well, that's been the case with my Givenchy boots; I wear them all the time. I wore this outfit last week to go out to dinner, too bad I can't dress like this anymore, since it's starting to get really cold in the city.

Thankful ...

If you knew me well, you would know that I can talk for hours - at least that's what my family says! But right now as I'm listening to "Empire State of Mind" I'm at a loss for words. Around this time (Thanksgiving) I like to look back and reflect on the past year and thank God for everything. But, right now I don't even know where to start.  I remember a year ago I was back at my home in Los Gatos (50 miles south of San Francisco) packing for my move to New York. Today, I'm in my apartment in Tribeca sipping on a glass of cabernet and writing this post as I smile an shed a tear here and there. I have a feeling that after this post, I will probably share a little bit more about my personal life. I have always been very private when it comes to it, but I get so many emails everyday asking me about how I got started, my TV career, my love life hahaha ... so, I think it's about time to open up a little bit.

So many things have changed in the past year or so. My boyfriend and I broke up after a three year long distance relationship ... and to be honest with you I was devastated. After all, I thought he was the guy I was going to marry. You know I cried for days but I never let myself go. I have always consider myself to be a very strong person (I get it from my dad) so I knew I had to keep on going, and I did. That's when I threw myself into work and wrote down every single dream I had. A couple of months later my blog took off. I started doing TV, radio and write for a newspaper once a week. After a breakup a lot of girls decide to start dating right away or go party, me ... I stayed home and worked instead! It payed off. Months later I decided to move to New York to follow my dreams. I moved with a suitcase full of shoes and dreams. I didn't really know anybody but my ex that lives in Jersey and his family, whom I love.

What can I say? New York has been more than I expected. I remember watching Sex and the City and thinking, Carrie is sooooo me - I think most of us think that right? lol. Well, it's not as easy as Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda make it seem, that's for sure. I have worked my butt off - my day usually starts at 7 and finishes after midnight (You've seen my post around that time) but I would NOT change a thing. I'm grateful for living my dream and for the people that I have come across this year. Every single goal I set for myself and more, I accomplished (TV, magazines, radio, styling, blogging etc).

I can't even express how grateful I am. I'm truly blessed and I thank God every day. I'm grateful for you mom, my brothers and Cobe; you guys are my rock, my everything. I'm grateful to have such amazing memories of my dad - you know everything I do, I do it for you daddy. I'm thankful for you, my readers, without you I would not be where I am today. I'm thankful for my friends that no matter what are always there for me. Prostis: Kim, Itziar, Blanca, Gris, Karin, Monika, Mechita, Karen, Monica, Jny Flower thank you for being an amazing friend. I'm very grateful for those people that gave me chance and believed in me when I moved to New York: Johanna Torres (Mamas Latinas), Michelle Herrera Mulligan (Cosmo for Latinas), Jennifer Gomez (People en Español) Ursula Carranza (Siempre Mujer magazine), Telemundo NY, NJ, CT and CNN en Español. I'm grateful for you Mrs. Cobb, thank you. I'm grateful for  the people that I have met in New York/New Jersey that have brighten my days ...

What can I say ... I'm truly blessed! Always remember, everything happens for a reason :-) To be continued ....

Si me conocieras bien, sabrias que hablo como una lora - al menos eso dicen mi familia y mis mejores amigas jaja. Pero ahorita, mientras escucho la cancion de Jay Z "Empire State of Mind" no me salen las palabras. El día de hoy en Estados Unidos se celebra el día de Acción de Gracias. A mi en este día, por lo general, me gusta reflexionar sobre lo que ha sido mi vida en este ultimo año y darle gracias a Dios por todo. Pero la verdad ahorita no se ni por donde empezar. Recuerdo que exactamente hace un año estaba en mi casa de Los Gatos (50 millas de San Francisco) empacando para mudarme a Nueva York. Y hoy estoy en mi departamento en Tribeca, tomando una copa de vino tinto y escribiendo este post mientras sonrio y se me cae una lagrima de vez en cuando. Tengo el presentimiento que después de esta entrada, voy a compartir un poquito mas de mi vida personal. Y es que siempre he sido bastante recatada con ella, pero no tienen idea cuantos emails recibo al día preguntandome como comencé mi carrera en los medios, como comence con el blog y hasta sobre mi vida amorosa jaja. Así que creo que ya llego la hora de compartir un poquito mas.

Uau tanto ha cambiado en un año.  Mi novio de tres años y yo terminamos. Y para ser sincera me dolio bastante y es que pense que el era el hombre con el que me iba a casar. Ya se imaginan, como todas lo hemos hecho alguna vez, llore por días. Pero nunca me di al abandono, eso yo jamas, mis Queens. Gracias a Dios siempre me he considerado una persona bastante fuerte (me parezco mucho a mi papito que en paz descanse) por eso sabia que a pesar de la tristeza que tenia, la vida continuaba. Es cuando me dedique en cuerpo y alma a Flor de Maria Fashion y empece a escribir en un cuaderno todos mis sueños. Unos meses después,  empece a hacer segmentos semanales de moda para la television, la radio y el periodico, ademas mi blog y mi marca crecieron con tal magnitud que las marcas mas grandes me empezaron a contactar.  Quizas después de un separación muchas chicas empiezan a salir con chicos inmediatamente o ir a discotecas, yo no, yo me dedique a trabajar. Y la verdad es que valio la pena. Meses despues me mude a Nueva York con una maleta llena de zapatos y muchos sueños. No conocia a nadie, solo a mi ex y su familia (viven en Nueva Jersey) la cual adoro.

¿Que les puedo decir? Nueva York es un monstruo que te puede deborar. No todo es color de rosa como se ve en Sexo en la Ciudad y como lo hacen ver Carrie (la cual ADORO), Samantha, Charlotte y Miranda, eso se los aseguro. Yo trabajo dia y noche, hay veces que empiezo a trabajar a las 7 de la mañana y termino despues de la medianoche. Pero no cambiaria nada. Estoy tan agradecida por que Diosito me dio la oportunidad de vivir mi sueño y por la gente que ha puesto en mi camino desde que llegue a la Gran Manzana. Cada meta que me propuse la cumpli (television, revistas, radio, asesoria de imagen, el blog etc) y mas.

La verdad es que no puedo ni expresar lo agradecida que estoy con Dios. Estoy agradecida contigo mama, mis hermanos y Cobe, ustedes son mi roca y mi todo. Estoy agradecida por tener tan lindas memorias de mi papa- ya sabes que todo lo que hago, te lo dedico a ti. Estoy agradecida con ustedes, por que sin uds. no estaría donde estoy. Estoy agradecida con mis amigas, Kim, Itziar, Blanca, Gris, Karin, Monika, Mechica, Karen, Monica, Jny Flower por siempre estar alli. Estoy agradecida con toda la gente que creyo en mi cuando me mude a Nueva York Johanna Torres (Mamas Latinas), Michelle Herrera Mulligan (Cosmo for Latinas), Jennifer Gomez (People en Español) Ursula Carranza (Siempre Mujer magazine), Telemundo Nueva York  y  CNN en Español.  Estoy agradecia con ud. Baroque it is!

It's weekly challenge day! I was very excited to try the "baroque" trend because it's one of my favorites this season, but I had not found anything I liked until I saw this top from Zara.  I wore this outfit to go out for drinks the other night and since it's started getting cold in New York, I had to add the faux-fur coat! What's your take on this trend?

¡Hoy es dia del reto de la semana!Yo me moria de ganas por probar la tendencia estilo barroco desde hace semanas, pero no habia visto una pieza que me encantara,hasta que me encontre con este top de Zara. Asi que esta semana me lo puse con una mini, botas y abrigo - por que ya empezo a hacer frio en Nueva York - para salir con unas amigas. ¿Se animarian a usar esta tendencia?
