My Hispanicize Adventures

A couple of weeks ago I attended Hispanicize where I was a speaker for the fourth consecutive year. Imagine being in sunny Miami and getting pampered every day, kind of a dream come true if you ask me! That’s right, I visited Orgullosa’s Living Fabulosa lounge, where I got my makeup done with COVERGIRL. I definitely felt like a Queen every time I left the lounge. My good friend and celebrity makeup artist, Aileen Quintana left me feeling truly fabulosa by matching me with the perfect shade of TruBlend Foundation that offers natural, dewy coverage.

While in Miami I also had the opportunity to do a fashion segment with Telemundo’s morning show, Un Nuevo Dia. I always get very excited when I get to share my fashion/beauty tips on TV (I went to school for Journalism) but this time, it was extra special because it was a National TV segment and that meant that a lot of you, could watch too.

Besides doing TV, attending different panels, getting pampered at Orgullosa’s Living Fabulosa lounge and being a speaker at the conference, I also made time to go to the beach and hang out by the pool – who wouldn’t right? Overall it was an amazing experience and I’m already looking forward to next year!

Hace un par de semanas fui a la Conferencia de Hispanicize, donde tuve la oportunidad de hablar en un panel por cuarto año consecutivo. Imagínate estar en la rica ciudad de Miami y además que te mimen por cinco días. Si me preguntas a mí, es todo un sueño hecho realidad. Y es que todos los días que estuve allá, visite el lounge Living Fabulosa de Orgullosa donde COVERGIRL me maquillo y dejo como toda una reina. Mi gran amiga y maquillista de las estrellas, Aileen Quintana realmente me hiso sentir fabulosa con el maquillaje TruBlend Foundation que ofrece cobertura natural y fresca.

Durante mi estadia en Miami también tuve la oportunidad de hacer un segmento de moda en Un Nuevo Dia por Telemundo. Siempre me pongo super contenta cuando voy a hacer un segmento en televisión, pero esta vez fue aún más especial, ya que iba a ser a nivel nacional. Lo cual significaba que muchas de ustedes me iban a poder ver.

Además de hacer mi segmento de televisión, asistir a diferentes charlas, vivir mimada por COVERGIRL y hablar en la conferencia, también hice un tiempecito para ir a la playa y pasar rato en la piscina. Los cinco días que estuve en Miami la pase riquísimo y espero volver a visitar esa bella ciudad muy pronto.

My Must-Haves for Miami

I'm back in the Bay Area right now but I'm headed to Miami this Monday to attend Hispanicize, where I will be speaking on a panel this Thursday! Miami is so humid that I need to make sure my hair stays looking fabulous through out the conference ... you know how we women suffer with our hair sometimes! Ahorita estoy en San Francisco pero este lunes me voy a Miami para asistir a la conferencia de Hispanicize, donde voy a estar hablando en un panel el jueves. Si han estado en Miami saben que el clima es bastante húmedo, por lo que necesito asegurarme de usar los productos adecuados, para que mi cabello luzca fabuloso durante la conferencia. Ever since I went back to being a brunette :-) (I don't miss being a blonde at all) I started using Brilliant Brunette Color Protecting Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner. I feel like it leaves my dark hair glossy and helps lock in the color as well. Desde que me oscurecí el cabello (la verdad es que no extraño ser rubia para nada) cambie de champu y acondicionador y busque uno que fuera especialmente para el pelo oscuro. Este de John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Color Protecting Moisturizing Champu y Acondicionador  esta diseñado especialmente para la mujer que se ha pintado el cabello marron y castano. Siento que me deja el cabello hidratado y le devuelve el brillo que tanto busco.

I believe that taking care of your hair is a must. That's why I like to use a primer before I style my hair, especially when I go on TV. My Week at Hispanicize in Miami Thanks to P&G Pruébalo & te Encantará

As you know, last week I headed to Miami to attend Hispanicize! This was the first conference that I ever attended when I started blogging and I have not missed one since then. This time around, I was even more excited to go because I was the exclusive on-site P&G Try it & Love it/Pruébalo & te Encantará social media ambassador.

I love Miami and I loved waking up everyday with the view of the bay and palm trees everywhere. Well, I have to admit that what made this conference even more fun was the fact that I had a glam squad at my service! Who doesn’t dream of that right? Yes, P&G had a lounge at the conference where I got my hair and makeup done every day. It was so much fun trying out different makeup and hairstyles for the week.

One of the days, the makeup artist, Aileen, gave me a graphic eye and I got so many compliments. I had never done it before and I really liked it. To get the look, she used COVERGIRL truBLEND Liquid Makeup and COVERGIRL + Olay Eye Rehab to color correct and conceal dark circles around my eyes. Then she applied COVERGIRL bronzer, blush and eyeliner. She finished the look with COVERGIRL Lipslicks Smoochies Gloss Balm. I have to admit the Smoochies have become one of my favorite go-to products. Not only is the package fun, but it also leaves your lips moisturized and adds a touch of sheer color.

Let’s talk about my hair now! First of all, I have to thank Vidal Sassoon Pro Series because they left my hair looking amazing the whole week. If you live in a humid place you know how hard it is to keep your hair looking beautiful- humidity is your worst enemy. Well, Vidal Sassoon Pro Series ColorFinity Finishing Hairspray did the job, providing 24 hour hold, without weighing my hair down and keeping my hair color vibrant. You know that I wear my hair down 90% of the time right? So I was excited to try something different one day. Can I say how obsessed I was with the braids I got thanks to the Vidal Sassoon Pro Series hair stylist? I felt like a brand new me.

Since Miami calls for less clothes and vibrant colors, you know I had to step up my outfit game for the conference! I wore a lot of pencil skirts and crop tops; probably my favorite trend right now. Overall, I had a great time at Hispanicize, I loved seeing friends and colleagues and making new contacts. I can’t wait to do it all over again next year!

Como saben, la semana pasada me fui a Miami para asistir a la conferencia de Hispanicize. Esta fue la primera conferencia que asistí cuando empecé mi blog y no me he perdido una desde ese entonces. Esta vez estaba mucho más emocionada que antes, ya que iba a ser la embajadora exclusiva de las redes sociales para P&G Try it & Love it/Pruébalo & te Encantará.

Amo Miami y ame levantarme cada mañana con la vista de la bahía y palmeras por todos lados. Además, el calorcito de Miami es único en comparación con otras partes de los Estados Unidos. Pero tengo que admitir que lo que hizo esta conferencia todavía más divertida fue que todas las mañanas iba al salón de P&G para que me mimaran y me pusieran bella. Y es que cada día P&G me hacia el maquillaje y me arreglaban el cabello.

Uno de esos días la maquillista, Aileen, me hizo un delineado gráfico. Nunca lo había probado antes, pero el resultado final me encanto y no había quien me dejara de parar para decirme lo bien que me quedaba. Para obtener ese look Aileen uso COVERGIRL Foundation y COVERGIRL + Olay Eye Rehab, para corregir el color y ocultar las ojeras.  Luego me aplico bronceador, rubor y el delineador de COVERGIRL Para terminar el look ella me aplico COVERGIRL Lipslicks Smoochies Gloss Balm. Este último producto se ha convertido en uno de mis preferidos ya que no solo tiene una envoltura súper divertida, si no que también me deja los labios suaves con un toque de color.

Ahora hablemos de mi cabello. Primero que todo quiero agradecer a Vidal Sassoon Pro Series ColorFinity Finishing Hairspray ya que me dejo el cabello divino toda la semana. Si viven en un lugar húmedo saben que feo se puede poner el pelo con tanta humedad y esa era mi peor pesadilla llegando a Miami. Pero el Vidal Sassoon Pro Series ColorFinity Finishing Hairspray sello mi cabello para que se vea divino desde el amanecer hasta el anochecer, sin apelmazar el cabello. Y que les puedo decir de estas trenzas que me hicieron? Quede enamorada!

En cuestión de outfits opte por usar piezas más coloridas y es que estaba en la capital del sol y no en Nueva York. Use muchas faldas tubos con tops cortitos. Al final de cuentas la pase divino en Hispanicize, vi a muchos amigos, colegas y conocí gente nueva. Una experiencia muy buena gracias a P&G Pruébalo & te Encantará.

I hope you are all doing great! I'm doing fabulous myself, the sun keeps me smiling and happy :-) So, this is what I wore to another session of Hispanicize in Miami. I wanted to keep the outfit stylish but professional at the same time that's why I wore a blazer and pants! You could wear this outfit to the office, the only thing I would change is the top, since it shows some cleavage.

Oops! ...I did it Again - I spoke at Hispanicize

Opps! ... I did it again, I spoke at Hispanicize. I know, I've mentioned Hispanicize a lot but I spent almost the whole past week in Miami at this event. On Friday, I had the opportunity to speak at a fashion panel with Carmen from Viva Fashion, Adriana Castro from El Diario de la Moda and my bestie Dany from Nany's Klozet. It was such an amazing experience and I'm so blessed to have had this opportunity. As you can tell by the pictures I really enjoyed the time there - well, that's because if you knew me you would know that I love to talk haha. I want to thank Manny Ruiz and the whole Hispanicize team for making this happened.

And I was going to give fashion tips and host a tweet up with Mercedes and Rory. I had so much fun interacting with everybody and talking about what I love, fashion. BTW Mariela did my makeup for the yacht party and I loved it!

I'm going to be a speaker at Hispanicize 2012 in Miami

I'm so excited to tell you that next week I'm going to Miami!!! I will be speaking as a panelist on A y Que Linda! The New Power and Influence of Latina Fashionista Bloggers at the third annual Hispanicize Conference. This is my second time attending and speaking at Hispanicize. Last year, I also had the pleasure to talk about what I love - my blog, my brand, my business Flor de Maria Fashion!

Besides speaking, networking, learning more about social media, blogging and Public Relations, I will also be hosting the Hogar Vivemejor lounge with Mercedes and Rory on Friday, April 13th at 1 pm. We will be tweeting from the event about fashion, beauty, Miami and everything in between. So, don't forget to join the conversation on twitter

Hispanicize 2011

Last week I had the pleasure to attend Hispanicize 2nd Annual PR & Social Media Conference at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. I had an amazing time and met very nice and talented people. It was the perfect place to meet other bloggers, journalists, PR agencies, social media experts and more.

I was so excited when Manny Ruiz, CEO of Hispanicize and Papi Blogger, invited me to be part of a panel of fashion & beauty bloggers. I had the best time talking about my baby "Flor de Maria Fashion," my TV segments and my love for fashion.  To be honest with you, I was little nervous before the sessions started, but as soon as the microphones were on the nerves went away!

La semana pasada tuve la oportunidad de asistir a la segunda Conferencia Anual de Relaciones Publicas y Medios Sociales Hispanos de Hispanicize en el hotel Renaissance de Hollywood. Durante los tres dias que duro la conferencia, tuve la oportunidad de conocer gente muy talentosa y linda. Era el lugar perfecto para conocer a otros blogueros, agencias de relaciones publicas, periodistas y mas.
